Towards a competent educational leader: notes for analysis

Abstract

The objective of the article is to help the study of this important subject, seen from the educational angle, to contribute to the directors of educational institutions in Cuba and other Latin American countries, to deploy the creative initiative, with the aspiration that with its consequent study it will be possible to know what is needed to achieve what is desired as human beings, in a universe at our disposal. Leadership is not decreed, it is achieved by its own merit when the needs of the followers are met. To satisfy other people, one must be satisfied with oneself; one cannot give what one does not have; to transform one must constantly transform oneself, in the untiring search for perfection as human beings. It is to make a continuous renewal of the thought and the ways of acting. The present work is a small tribute to hundreds and thousands of men and women who have devoted themselves for years to educational management, in the formation of generations of citizens for the development of our societies.
