Abstract

In the article the reader habit is conceptualized and the epistemic foundations that sustain the development of the reading habit of the learners are exposed. Emphasis is placed on motivation as the core of this process and on the need for teachers to stimulate students to read, in such a way that they feel the desire to do so spontaneously and systematically. Reading is conceived as an interactive activity between the text and the reader, which allows us to consider from the didactic point of view that reading education is a complex process of training and education to achieve the reader's involvement with the text.
