Abstract

The article deals with the relevance of using the written work of Karl Marx and Frederick Engels as a source of historical knowledge in the teaching-learning process of the discipline of Universal History, specifically in the Marxism-Leninism and History career, which highlights the importance of this work as a guideline for the scientific conception of the world and society. Its objective is to present the experiences of the use of these works in the formation of the professional of the referred career. Some of the works used are related, as well as their main ideas and exemplified with activities carried out by the students, who perceived, as well as the professors, that they are essential to understand history as a complex and unique process subject to laws. Historical-logical methods, analysis and critique of sources and evaluation of products of the pedagogical process were used. The results contributed to the appropriation of the historical content and to the achievement of the objectives of the referred discipline.
