Challenges of educational orientation in the university context

Abstract

The conceptions and practices of educational guidance have been part of the new paradigms that were established with the aim of promoting student development, from the prevention of their problems and the pedagogical and psychological treatment of those already existing. Educational guidance, as a mediation process, requires assistance as a process that promotes and facilitates a level of achievement, appropriation and learning that allows a level of development. In this sense, it is necessary to value the person who accompanies and guides the student throughout his or her career, because, in addition, he or she advises, knows the problems, and influences the mobilization of resources, based on personal growth, the student's personal resources in the educational context. The aim of this article is to systematize from the theoretical point of view the educational orientation and its importance in the Cuban university context.
