Abstract

The study makes it possible to understand the movement that has had the didactic treatment of creativity by the actors of the teaching-learning process of Plastic Education in the second cycle of Primary Education in Cuba. For this purpose, a historical tendency study is carried out where the following indicators are taken into account: the characteristics of the teaching-learning process of Plastic Education, with emphasis on the treatment of creativity; the methodologies used by teachers and students; as well as the conceptualization of creativity in the Didactics of Plastic Education. The research was based on the study and critique of sources, including documents published by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Culture, resolutions, programs and methodological guidelines, as well as interviews and surveys to methodologists, coordinators, teachers and art instructors. The analysis made it possible to arrive at historical tendencies that recognize the advances in the didactics of Plastic Education, but that the methodological actions deployed by teachers and students to develop creativity are still insufficient, as well as a conceptualization that is exposed from psychology with a cultural-historical approach in its result.
