The strategy for the professional orientation in the university educational careers: its application and impact

This article is a result of one of the lines of research of the Center for Studies for Labor Training of the University of Holguin, which addresses how to conceive professional guidance from a perspective that favors the training of committed, competent and creative education professionals, to respond to the challenges imposed by today's society. For this, derived from a theoretical and methodological systematization of the studies and results of the scientific activity and the work in projects, a contextualized curricular strategy is elaborated that is concreted in the academic years. This strategy promotes the development of values, motives, abilities, qualities and the way of acting for a self-determined professional reaffirmation, which is expressed in an efficient professional performance, with a high personal involvement and individual and social commitment of the professionals of education in training. An impact study has been developed with the collaboration of other researchers of the pedagogical careers of the University of Holguin who contribute to the implementation and generalization of the results from various teaching, improvement, research and extension activities. The results support broad and sustained changes in the training process of the education professional of the different pedagogical careers of the University of Holguin. As a result of these results, the process of professional orientation in the schools of the territory is perfected, which multiplies its social impact.
