Psycho-pedagogical counseling to teachers to stimulate the development of emotional skills

Abstract

Today's society has reemerged the importance of emotional education, since several problems arise in the educational context. In order for teachers to assume this challenge, it is necessary for them to recognize their own integral development, where the emotional aspect becomes essential in their pedagogical practice. However, insufficiencies were found in the development of their emotional skills to identify, understand and manage their own emotions. The present research study aims to present psycho-pedagogical counseling activities for teachers to stimulate the development of their emotional skills at the José Martí Pérez Elementary School. Theoretical and empirical research methods were used for this purpose. In the first: analysis-synthesis, historical-logical, induction-deduction and modeling. In the second, observation, survey, interview and document review were used. The applications of these contributed to the diagnosis of the problems revealed and the elaboration of the proposal. The contribution made favors a better professional performance of teachers in the teaching-learning process to improve the quality of their educational work. This favors school environments and the formation of children's personalities, so that they can face the challenges imposed by society.
