Suicide is a social phenomenon that occupies the attention of different sciences: philosophy, medicine, sociology, psychology and educational sciences, among others. It is an act of violence against oneself and at the same time one of the most lethal social problems of humanity, so that the prevention of this multicausal and complex act is a necessity, taking into account the diagnosis, monitoring and evaluation. The aspects approached allowed the development of this research, which had the objective of identifying the perception of risk in pre-university students with suicide attempt. A qualitative and quantitative methodology was used, supported by the statistical mathematical method, allowing the methodological triangulation of the data. The sample was represented by 291 pre-university students between 15 and 17 years of age. The results achieved allowed reaffirming that students identified with risk factors in the social, family and educational contexts show tendencies to attempt suicide due to the lack of support from close people and personal strategies to avoid these suicidal behaviors.
