Indicators for evaluating the environmental training of social communicators

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to present a proposal of indicators that contribute to the adequate initial environmental training of the social communicator. This responds to the fact that this professional, who is trained in Cuban schools today, attends to communication processes at interpersonal, group, organizational and social levels, in community, institutional and mass spaces. Among the spheres of action where he/she develops this object of work is educational and community communication. However, in the professional's model for the approach of the environmental curricular strategy, there are insufficiencies that are evidenced in the way the students of the career act, from their own behavior in the educational environment, as well as in the social environment. Inadequacies in the approach from the interdisciplinary and academic years of the environmental curricular strategy, the preparation of the faculty lacks theoretical and methodological tools that enhance the adequate treatment of the environmental dimension in the career. These are some of the causes that condition students' bad practices towards and with the environment.
