Abstract

In the modern world, the sustainable development of any society depends largely on the results of the university training process; for which it is essential to achieve a high quality graduation, with young people truly identified with the chosen profession according to social demands, appreciated during their professional practice and in preparation for employment. The work presented is part of one of the results of the research that addresses the link University-Labor Entities, which is developed at the University of Camagüey. It has its origin in the insufficiencies manifested in the university professional training that limit the quality of the graduation for the exercise of the profession in order to solve the problems of the university itself and of the territory. The current proposal intends to analyze the challenges of professional reaffirmation in university education from the systematization of the theory that sustains it, with a view towards possible contemporary solutions. As a result, challenges and perspectives for the sustainability of society are revealed, among them, the necessary integrated intervention of socio-educational agents, the follow-up of the diagnosis and the graduate, as well as the conscious, active and leading role of future professionals. These constitute references of obligatory revision to favor a qualitatively superior formation of young people, in order to guarantee a sustainable future.
