The labor insertion of the university graduates has been the main challenge of higher education, the advances in this field have been conceived as the main manifestation of pertinence of the Universities. The objective of the present is to determine from a pedagogical approach the conception of pre-professional practices in higher education and its usefulness as a labor insertion strategy. For this study, theoretical, empirical and statistical methods were used. A sample of 87 graduates from the 2015-2016 cohort was taken from the career of Executive Secretary of the Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí-Ecuador University, to whom a questionnaire was applied through the Likert scale. The results show that students feel motivated when they are projected from work contexts to problematic situations in their profession and the possibility of solving them; as well as the opportunity that these scenarios offer them to be used immediately once they have graduated, even though there is no intentionality in the internship plan.
