Historical trends of pedagogical training in Nursing in Cuba from 1959 to 2022

Abstract

This article aims to describe the historical trends of pedagogical training in nursing in Cuba from 1959 - 2022.For this purpose, a bibliographic review was carried out, based on indicators established to analyze the historical tendencies of the process in the studied stage, divided into two periods: period of technical base formation and period of professionalization of nursing education; hence the predominance of the theoretical method of documentary review and as empirical, observation.As main results, it is highlighted that there is a change from a model of nursing education, emanated from a technical conception that shows a fragmented education and lacking of pedagogical attention towards new educational possibilities in the pedagogical and adjusted to the new conditions of science and technology; in the same way, it is corroborated a training of this professional that is directed to establish a coherent integration between the pre-professional pedagogical practice and the performance in the health care area.
