Linear positioning of a Festo pneumatic cylinder using predictive control

Abstract

In this article, the identification of the system of a didactic industrial process was carried out through the “System Identification” tool of the Matlab software. The position tests of a double-acting cylinder without a rod were carrying out, which was analyzed the different answers from controller implemented in this type of process. For this, various scientific methods and techniques were used such as the experimentation, documental analysis and observation. A predictive control response was comparing with classic controllers such as the Fuzzy PID control and PID control, to determine which of the following controllers best fit the dynamics of the system. Based on the results of the studies it was concluding that the three controllers reach the desired point.
