Abstract

This article deals with the problem of how the scientific and technical revolution has had a decisive impact on all spheres of social life, which undoubtedly includes the loss of cultural identity, as an appropriate ideological vehicle and distinctive element for the preservation of national and local identity. It stresses the need to preserve identities, emphasizing that the defence of culture and the preservation of these identities are a challenge today, since various phenomena and events that threaten the preservation of identity values are being faced. It insists on the rise in the use of new technologies (the Internet) as a central marker of identities, specifically of young people, and as a device that arms, shapes and gives meaning to their lives and practices, and therefore has great social influence.
