Perforation of the gastrojejuno anastomosis in patients with peptic ulcer

We present a patient operated for distal gastric cancer with gastrojejunal diversion in Y of Roux and perforated ulcer with late diagnosis that compromised the anastomosis and merited reversal surgery, evolved to purulent peritonitis and multi-organ failure. The diagnosis was established in the trasoperative period. Postoperative complications due to clinical signs required reversal surgery and therapeutic management in an intensive care unit. The results obtained and suggestions for cases of this type are discussed.
