Abstract

At the dawn of the 21st century, the teaching-learning process must be focused on the training of teachers who respond to the needs of their time. It should be pointed out that literary analysis should be aimed at getting learners to become efficient communicators, capable of expressing their ideas, judgments, assessments, emotions and feelings from the analysis, understanding and construction of texts and that revert to their daily work as a result of an education for life. On the other hand, it is sought to become aware of the political and cultural processes that took place and are still valid in Latin America. Education professionals are those who, in one way or another, have the responsibility to orm values such as camaraderie, patriotism and Latin Americanism in future generations. Therefore, unveiling in each stage how Latin American literature maintains its features, while echoing its reality, and responding, in addition, to the characteristics of each style, but with the preservation of its identity, allows reflection about the features that make up the Latin American identity. To obtain these results, this article aims to address the most general features that characterize Latin American literature. Once indicated these features can be analyzed through the different literary styles that take place in Latin America. With this exercise the Latin American identity is strengthened and strengthened in the students of the Spanish-Literature career.
