Abstract

This article conceptually gathers the civic-civism-civic education relationship based on several challenges imposed by today's world to the educational work in correspondence with social processes. Education must guarantee integral formation, at the same time, be in tune with the scientific-technical development, to be assimilated by men and women, so that they incorporate it creatively to their time to achieve the revolutionary transformation of society. Therefore, it must provide man with a responsible attitude for social coexistence in present and future generations; help to configure in them models and ways of behaving in society before the needs and interests that they have as citizens. This is why it is a priority to have a vision of science that expresses the totalizing notion of reality when contextualizing the situation of the country, from an educational perspective; therefore, Cuban educational policy has outlined a line of work that guarantees this social task, among all the institutions of society, the school has a fundamental mission, since it has the greatest possibilities to systematize the educational process in terms of social objectives, to achieve the mobilizing capacity to involve the family and the community in terms of the contents of the State's policy. It is the space where activities aimed at favoring the formation of standards of conduct, qualities, principles and values are deployed. Its orienting work is indispensable to form an independent individual.
