Foundations to form and develop the undertaking tourist business competence

This article responds to a problem in force in the Tourism career of the Higher Agricultural Polytechnic School of Manabí, Ecuador, referring to the inadequacies that students have in training to undertake tourism businesses. This insufficiency is given, on the one hand, because the curriculum does not objectively contemplate its treatment as an essential competence for professional performance; and on the other, because the notion of that graduate is only that of a service employee and not of a manager. For the elaboration of the present work essentially theoretical methods and techniques were used such as analysis-synthesis, induction-deduction and concretion-abstraction, characteristic of this type of preliminary study.
