The evolution of the structure of major teaching categories in the pedagogical careers of Camagüey province

The research presented is carried out in accordance with the need to raise to higher levels the teaching categories of teachers of pedagogical careers in the province of Camagüey, in order to improve the quality of the services offered by their university. For this, a strategy was introduced aimed at contributing to the evolution of the main teaching categories of the teachers of the university pedagogical careers, which consists of four stages: planning and organization; preparation; execution and evaluation. Among the research methods used are documentary analysis, bibliographic review related to the subject and consultation of the regulations, regulations and guidelines of the Ministry of Higher Education on the processes of teaching categories, as well as in the study of annual reports and scientific balances of the Vice-Rectory for Research, Postgraduate and International Relations, the files of teachers and other archival documents; observation of the processes for obtaining teaching categories, survey of professors and interviews with managers and members of courts of teaching categories. The interpretation of the results obtained when introducing it in practice demonstrates the viability of the strategy to increase the number of teachers of pedagogical careers with main teaching categories, mainly of Full Professor and Assistant Professor, by stimulating their application the accelerated realization of the processes of awarded planning in each teaching department, according to the structure of teaching categories determined in correspondence with the needs diagnosed in each career.
