REFLEXIONS ABOUT THE INDIANS RUINS, OF JOSÉ MARTÍ: AMERICAN ROOTS

Abstract

En el presente artículo se brinda una interpretación de ?Las ruinas indias, de José Martí, texto dedicado a los niños; publicado en La Edad de Oro, propicia una identificación con la América mestiza, que se activa por medio del sentimiento de nostalgia y de orgullo hacia un pasado glorioso. Se muestran fundamentos característicos para la identificación del latinoamericano con sus ancestros. 

ABSTRACT

The present article offers an interpretation of José Martí 's Indian ruins, a text devoted to children, published in The Golden Age. It favors the identification with the American native; identification that is activated by means of the feeling of nostalgia and of ancestors pride towards a glorious past and the support characteristic for the identification of the Latin American with their ancestors.
