Actualization and critical view won the efficacy of Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology in the diagnosis of thyroid malignancies

The thyroid nodule is an entity that is commonly benign; they manifest clinically when presenting symptoms at the cervical level. It has been shown in the literature that fine needle aspiration-puncture (FNA) is the most useful method for studying a thyroid nodule; it is a technique that allows us to increase diagnostic precision and reduce the number of unnecessary surgeries, not only as a diagnostic method but also to select patients who are candidates for surgical treatment. The research was carried out with the aim of establishing the efficacy of Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology in the diagnosis of thyroid malignancies. It could be concluded that CAAF is an effective tool in the diagnosis of malignant conditions of the thyroid gland, with high sensitivity and specificity.
