Training of trainers and their relevance in the quality of higher Education Professional

Abstract

The training of trainers is currently in a deficit state, which is evidenced in the research and scientific literature consulted on this subject, as well as in numerous empirical studies that indicate the insufficient preparation of teachers. This subject is essential for the improvement of Higher Education in Ecuador and the processes that are inherent to it, including professional training. In this sense, the pedagogical knowledge of the trainers constitutes a subject insufficiently addressed in the field of educational research. The foregoing is intrinsically related to the absence of training policies for trainers in said territory. Likewise, with the tendency that manifests itself in teachers with regard to understanding the problem of training as something external to themselves, referred to the entry behaviors of students who are trained as future teachers, the institutional conditions, the deficiencies of the training curriculum and lack of resources. For this reason, this article exposes the importance of providing training courses for trainers to these professionals, aimed at achieving the comprehensive and competent training of students, as well as an adequate professional performance in the different contexts of action.
