The principles of postgraduate education in Cuba and the quality of university processes

Abstract

In the new Regulations for Graduate Education of the Republic of Cuba, the principles corresponding to this fourth level of education are formulated explicitly for the first time. Adequate understanding of the content of each principle and its requirements is essential for the improvement of pedagogical practice, so it is necessary to reflect on how to implement them in different institutional contexts, with emphasis on distinguishing the relationship between unity and diversity as a starting point and general basic premise to characterize the conditions in which the training processes are developed in the different modalities of graduate education. This work offers arguments that lead to the improvement of its study, systematization and implementation, as well as new recommendations for its implementation in search of compliance with the standards established by the new quality standards required.
