Exercises for the use of discourse connectors and their link with social networks

Abstract

The adequate use of connectors or discourse markers is vital for the achievement of textual construction. Through the application of research techniques and instruments, it was found that a sample of twelfth grade students of the José Martí Pérez Urban Pre-university Institute had difficulties in this regard. When the educational center was closed due to COVID-19, technologies and applications such as WhatsApp were implemented to continue with the educational teaching process and correct the detected problem, a system of exercises was elaborated and put into practice, which laid its foundations in the historical background of the subject. This article demonstrates the effectiveness of the system of exercises applied to improve the use of discursive connectors in textual construction.
