Abstract

This article aims at reflecting from the theoretical point of view on two terms that have been used historically in distance education: interaction and interactivity. First, it was studied and analyzed in depth by reviewing various theoretical sources and observation as an initial diagnosis, some definitions of interaction and interactivity. Derived from the study it was found that there are several ways in which these concepts have been considered, there being no uniformity, something that brings with it difficulties for its correct development. On the other hand, it was analyzed from the perspective of this research, that interactions form the main component to develop interactivity in distance education, hence the importance of the direct relationship between both terms. At the end, reference is made to the importance of continuing to deepen on interactivity, considering it as one of the critical variables in distance education.
