Traditional festivals in China and Spain from a cross-cultural perspective

China and Spain have formed their own distinctive traditional cultures in the process of historical development. Festivals are the essence and concentration of daily human life, reflect the most representative aspect of national culture. New Year and Christmas are two important festivals in China and Spain, they are representative of Chinese and Spanish cultures and are typical for exploring the differences between Chinese and Spanish festive cultural customs. Through the comparative study of Chinese New Year festival and Spanish Christmas, a detailed summary of the origin, customs, spiritual purpose, social function, cultural connotation of the two festivals is made. It also analyzes the similarities and differences between the traditional Chinese and Spanish festive cultures from a cross-cultural point of view. With the continuous improvement of the state of China, Spaniards have begun to pay attention to Chinese culture. More and more Spaniards are interested in the New Year and celebrate it with the Chinese in Spain. Therefore, to promote the festive culture of our country, we should seize this opportunity. We can be inspired by the development of the New Year in Spain, spread the excellent festive culture of our country and let more Spaniards understand the Chinese festive culture. Under the role of propaganda and promotion, the awareness of protecting one's traditional national culture has been strengthened, and the sense of national identity and cohesion has been subtly enhanced.
