Cultural research: content of the permanent training of professionals from cultural institutions

Abstract

Cultural research as a content of permanent training of professionals in local cultural institutions is considered one of the great challenges of the Ministry of Culture in Cuba and constitutes the platform for the solution of the indications set out in the national development strategy, towards 2030. This article aims at assessing theoretical and practical positions on cultural research as a content of permanent training in local cultural institutions in Cuba. A conceptualization of this issue is presented and a vision of its status in Cuba and Latin America is given, which is the result of the consultation and analysis of multiple bibliographic, printed or digital sources. The research carried out allowed concluding that the permanent training of the professional of local cultural institutions is assumed as a process that goes from the initial and postgraduate training, in labor and community contexts; it is generally the object of attention by the Center for the Improvement of Culture and the Municipal University Centers, even when the projections to reach it are insufficient.
