Focus and Scope

The electronic journal Opuntia Brava is a scientific publication of the University of Las Tunas, Cuba. Its main mission is to disseminate results of scientific research conducted in Cuba, Ibero-America, Latin America and the Caribbean, Europe, and Asia, contributing to the development of science and society in general. To this end, it publishes review and original articles, in Spanish and English, relating to analyses or debates on contemporary theories, social phenomena, current discussions, and case studies that enrich and offer a new theoretical perspective to various disciplines, particularly in the fields of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Natural and Exact Sciences, Medical and Health Sciences, Technical and Agricultural Sciences; which gives it a multidisciplinary character.

It is aimed at students, researchers, teachers, and members of the national and international scientific community who are interested in publishing on the topics of the journal and/or accessing the information it offers. It is published quarterly, so in January, April, July, and October of each year online, a new issue is presented to the academic community that follows it.

The review process for submitted articles will take an average of 20-30 weeks from the date of receipt to possible publication.

Since its creation, Opuntia Brava has adhered to the philosophy of open access. Authors who publish in Opuntia Brava retain the rights to use their contributions, with full freedom to share them on personal websites and/or in open-access digital repositories, with the only express condition that they reference the original publication.

The journal does not charge any fees for processing or publishing articles (No APC); that is, receiving, reviewing, and publishing has no cost for the authors.
