Abstract

The dedication of students to the study is a problem that persists in Higher Education, related to factors that are directly linked to students and teachers. In the latter, some difficulties have been detected in guiding independent work, which are materialized in: deficiencies in the selection of ways and ways to carry it out, as well as in the use of study techniques and teaching-learning strategies. This affects the effectiveness of independent work, the development of creative thinking and the cognitive independence of students. Therefore, this problem has a particular connotation in the first years of the career Sociocultural Management for Development, of the University of Las Tunas, Cuba. In this sense, this article is an approach based on the practice and the inclusion of a vision from the promotion, as an alternative arising from the author's experience for the orientation of independent work.
