Abstract

This article examines the Comprehensive Indigenous Educational Model (MEII) in light of the diatopic hermeneutics proposed by Boaventura de Sousa Santos, with the aim of interpreting its epistemological, pedagogical, and political foundations within the framework of intercultural education in Mexico. Based on an analysis of the MEII's guiding document and a dialogue with authors in philosophy, sociology, and critical pedagogy, it argues that this model constitutes a situated alternative that articulates local knowledge and scientific knowledge through processes of intercultural translation. Methodologically, the study employs a qualitative, theoretical-analytical approach, based on documentary review and the hermeneutic interpretation of academic and normative sources. It argues and concludes that diatopic hermeneutics allows for an understanding of the tensions between universalism and particularism, as well as the possibilities of an Indigenous education oriented toward decoloniality, offering a critical reflection on the scope and challenges of the Comprehensive Indigenous Educational Model in community contexts.
