Experiences of interpretation and heritage education in the training of sociocultural managers

Abstract

Heritage interpretation has been gaining importance as a fundamental tool in heritage management, dissemination and conservation. It follows an educational philosophy that seeks more to learn than to learn. In this sense, the purpose of this work is to socialize the experience of the University of Matanzas in the training of the sociocultural manager for heritage interpretation and education. A qualitative approach and the use of theoretical and empirical methods were assumed. As results, heritage interpretation is conceived as a strategy for heritage education and examples of teaching tasks carried out in the educational practice for the training of sociocultural managers are shown. Its implementation favors the training of professionals with the knowledge, skills, abilities and values necessary to bring the community closer to heritage.
