Keywords:
IPVCE Luis Urquiza Jorge, historical evolution, educational local identityAbstract
The Instituto Preuniversitario Vocacional de Ciencias Exactas (IPVCE) Luis Urquiza Jorge, is an important educational institution in the province of Las Tunas. For this reason, this article is based on the idea that analyzing its historical evolution contributes to the process of formation of a local educational identity in the teachers and students of Las Tunas and enriches the existing knowledge about the different stages of pre-university education in the territory. In order to fulfill the objective of analyzing two important questions about its historical evolution (inauguration and appointment processes), primary sources were consulted such as documents, photos, videos, testimonies, belonging to students and professors of the campus, as well as secondary sources integrated by journalistic articles about personalities and moments of the evolution of this pre-university. Criticism was applied to the data extracted, which allowed corroborating the inaccuracy of some and the certainty of others. In addition, the historical-logical method was used, as well as analysis-synthesis and induction-deduction.
