Insertion of the Municipal University Center to reduce risk factors in the companies of Palma Soriano

Abstract

With the objective of proposing actions to reduce risk factors in the companies of the municipality of Palma Soriano, the Municipal University Center, within its main objectives of coordination, advice to companies, proposed to carry out a diagnosis of the current situation of labor and environmental conditions in the Meat Business Unit in the period from December 2021 to July 2022. Supported by direct observation through individual photography and unstructured interviews to the 15 workers exposed to different risk factors in the slaughter area and who received training and the proposed actions organized in three stages. As a result of the procedure developed, the risks were evaluated and the lack of their updating and the training of the workers involved for each work position was corroborated. The final evaluation of the research allowed the elaboration of a panorama of risk factors, proposing a system of actions to reduce occupational accidents, reviewing the environmental processes in the company, which becomes a tool to be used in other areas that are exposed to risks in the Unit itself.
