Didactic conception of the sugar industry as an integrating content in the teaching-learning process of Cuban History

Abstract

The work constitutes an approach from the didactics of history to the study of the influence that the sugar industry had in the formation and development of the Cuban nationality. It shows the fundamental aspects to take into account for the treatment of the sugar industry as a content, aimed at strengthening the historical and didactic formation of the Marxism-Leninism and History teacher in training. The central objective is to model the treatment of the sugar industry as an integrating content in the teaching-learning process of Cuban History in the initial training of the Marxism-Leninism and History teacher. The didactic conception is based on three fundamental ideas: the nuclei of contents, a productive methodology with a dynamizing function and the teaching-learning context as a transforming formative scenario. These ideas manage to explain the integrating character of the sugar industry as a content and its contribution to the formation, development and consolidation of Cuban nationality from the teaching of Cuban History. Modeling and the system approach were used as methods, which allowed revealing the relationships between the ideas of the didactic conception. The process modeled contributes to enrich the teaching-learning process of Cuban History and to prepare students on how to learn to learn and learn-teach the sugar industry as a content in the different educational levels, in order to achieve their integral formation.
