Activities to promote environmental education in higher education through Marti's thought

Abstract

In this article, the authors develop activities to strengthen environmental education in Higher Education students, based on the study of José Martí's work, having as experimentation center a sample of the Elementary Education and Spanish Literature degree courses of the Municipal University Center, in the Jesús Menéndez municipality. For the development of this study, methods widely described in the literature were used, which allowed establishing the necessary theoretical assumptions, as well as characterizing the work aimed at promoting motivation from the environmental perspective in the students under study. The activities were developed in face-to-face meetings, with the support of the teacher and the center's political and mass organizations. The results obtained from the sample used show effectiveness in the educational work regarding the subject treated in the research; the data obtained show the above and the teachers' criteria corroborate the changes originated in the motivation of the students, an aspect that contributes to the integral formation of the young person, besides contributing to the achievement of transformations that allow the cohesion of the group and the linking of the students with the school, the family and the society, manifested through their way of acting.
