Abstract

The objective of this research is to describe the level of knowledge about the division of whole numbers and combined operations based on the didactic activities proposed by the teachers that the students of eighth grade of General Basic Education of the Educational Unit "Juan XXIII" have in the academic period 2020-2021. For its fulfillment, the following aspects were developed: the design of an instrument that allowed collecting data on the level of knowledge of the students, the diagnosis of the level of knowledge from the didactic activities proposed by the teachers and the elaboration of the proposal of didactic strategies that allow raising their level of knowledge. Methodologically, this study has a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental design and a descriptive type of research; with a population and sample of 28 students and the use of descriptive statistics for the generation of tables and graphs. In this sense, the following results were obtained: the design of a questionnaire with 11 questions for the application of the test to the students, the diagnosis of their level of knowledge based on the 11 questions, 2 established indicators and a general analysis; and a proposal of didactic strategies based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) was elaborated. Thus, this study is a tool to improve the teaching process of eighth grade students, focused on educational quality and meaningful learning.
