Abstract

The stomatology career has been subject to several transformations due to the constant improvement of the curricula that seek to elevate the scientific and technical preparation. Dentomaxillofacial anomalies are considered the third facial or oral health problem; they affect children and adolescents, which is why the prevention of them must be weighed due to the aesthetic, functional, psychological and social affectations they cause. Establishing the primary prevention of dentomaxillofacial anomalies as an essential content in the training of the stomatology student should be a priority as the stomatologist would appropriate tools to anticipate the occurrence of these anomalies and their risk factors and prevent their progressive increase that causes so many conditions in children and adolescents that have repercussions for a lifetime.
