The process of leadership formation in university student leaders

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to expose the development and historical evolution of the process of leadership formation in Cuban university student leaders, specifically, with emphasis on the importance that distributed leadership has at present, since it encompasses distinctive characteristics as a social phenomenon in the process of formation of students in the university institution. In order to achieve this purpose, methods such as the historical-logical and bibliographical review were used. As main result it is expressed that the distributed leadership is suitable in the formation of university student's qualities due to the forms and strategies that it combines for a much more effective fulfillment of tasks. At the same time, it plays a determining role in the processes of university student leadership, since it forms the basis for them to assume the responsibilities in the positions they perform better prepared and therefore, with a better disposition to face them.
