Abstract

The development of university extension as a process and function of Cuban higher education is closely related to the concept of local development and involves the fulfillment of the university's social responsibility to contribute to it in a constant, participatory and key way that reinforces the formation of competent and committed professionals. In order to achieve such purpose, the fundamentals of a methodological strategy are offered, which -from the experience of the University of Granma- contributes to an alignment between the socio-community extension projects with the local development programs, with emphasis on the structuring of the professional's modes of action from the profile of each career.
