Communication and education. A necessary relationship
Keywords:
communication, education, educational process.Abstract
The relationship between communication and education is a problem of interest for any society; however, this relationship is conceived in different ways, depending on the social project designed. Education is projected in correspondence with the type of society and communication contributes to the promotion of interests, objectives and preconceived goals. The most significant pedagogical practices in the history of education establish the relationship between education and communication on the basis of certain models that break with traditional practice and are characterized by establishing exchange, participation and dialogue between students and teacher, that is, interrelationships mediated by information-message-learning are formed during the process and then materialize in their application in social practice. If the educational process is projected as a communicative process, it favors simultaneous learning, contributes to the change of attitudes, behaviors and strengthening of values, which constitute the essence of our work. These arguments lead, from a dialectical materialist approach, to make some assessments about the importance of granting the value of communication to contribute to the effective development of the educational process, with the purpose of training new generations on the basis of adequate communicative relationships between people, characterized by respect and solidarity, for which it is important to start from theoretical conceptions that take into account the functions and objectives of communication in the educational process.
