Martí: history and oratory

Abstract

This article focuses on Martí's approach to history in his discourses. First, the conceptions of this science, as a historical subject, are synthesized in his social practice. Then it specifies the use that Martí makes of the historical knowledge acquired in the act of tribune as a support for his work in the formation of a generation of men of thought for America, capable of undertaking the historical task in which he himself has been engaged.
