Abstract

Cuban Higher Education has implemented a diversity of admission routes, teaching modalities and types of courses. A not insignificant number of people reject the subject of Mathematics. The low motivation for this science could be due to very dissimilar causes, that is why the teaching of Mathematics should not be limited to a simple transmission of knowledge, it is important that the student learns to think and learn, which presupposes an important challenge for teachers. In the entrance exams, the questions proposed seek to evaluate several contents, i.e., they are exercises and problems that integrate mathematical contents that the student learns, but in his passage through general education he must develop skills to integrate them.  It is considered appropriate to make some reflections on how to achieve a better teaching performance and a greater motivation of students for the study of this science and to model the proposal of some exercises to contribute to raise the quality of the preparation of students in the subject of Mathematics for the entrance exam to Higher Education. The generality of the proposed exercises are integrators of content, since they contain as a whole all the objectives that the student must master to be successful in the entrance exams and, in general, to raise the quality of the graduates of the pre-university education, everything possible has been done to channel the reasoning process in such a way that it moves the student away from the task of memorizing.
