Abstract

The anterior guide is a determinant of dental occlusion, responsible for programming masticatory function, so it is considered the starting point for the success of any restorative or aesthetic procedure. However, patients with alterations in the anterior guide of dental occlusion, of a dysfunctional type, frequently visit the “3 de Octubre” Stomatology Clinic in Las Tunas. This was the reason for conducting a study during the period from March to September 2021 at the mentioned clinic, with the aim of establishing a consultation for attending patients with dysfunctional anterior dental occlusion guide with an interdisciplinary approach. The universe of the work group was selected through simple random sampling; it was made up of six medical science professionals and one psychologist. The theoretical methods of document review, analysis and synthesis, and induction and deduction helped with the theoretical systematization, which showed that out of 25 studies related to the topic, published in scientific articles and on database websites like MEDLINE, PubMed, and SciELO, 21 were intentionally selected, supported by professionals who are experts on this subject. As the main outcome, an interdisciplinary consultation is created at the secondary level of care as a solution for treating adult patients with this condition. The main impact is highlighted by achieving a better approach to complex diagnoses, scientific creation, rationalization of material resources, and consolidation of the doctor-patient team relationship, which allows for comprehensive rehabilitation.
