Physics and its application in Orthodontics
Keywords:
physics, orthodontics, strength, teeth and biomechanicsAbstract
Orthodontic treatment depends on the reaction of the teeth, and in a broader sense, of the facial structures, to the application of mild but persistent forces. Knowledge of various physical concepts and their clinical application in orthodontics is of vital interest to orthodontic professionals. This article aims to substantiate the importance of learning the application of physics in orthodontics, thus reducing the duration of treatment, developing more individualized therapeutic plans and achieving more predictable results. Methods such as analysis-synthesis, induction-deduction and document review were used as a technique. The correct application of these principles increases treatment efficacy by improving planning and delivery.
