Manatí in images: Sociocultural project for the promotion of the photographic collection of the Jesús Suárez Gayol Municipal Museum. Results achieved

Abstract

The article offers an analysis of the results achieved so far by the Project for the promotion of the photographic collection of the Manatí Municipal Museum, based on the promotion of photography as a way to appreciate and signify the cultural and social values of this as part of the cultural heritage, as well as to make known the images that reproduce the cultural roots, traditions and identity of the community that generates it.In addition, it recognizes the benefits of promotion, in relation to the preservation of heritage through the development of actions that awaken favorable affective states in the cultural subjects of the community. It constitutes a contribution to the materialization of the strategic line of revitalization of values and identity of the municipality, which integrates knowledge of the local culture and history, emphasizes the participation of the community and the implementation of the knowledge and values present in the community, for the preservation and enhancement of its heritage. Among the methods used are analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, as well as ethnographic, phenomenological and participatory action research.two
