The objective of this article is to reveal the contributions to cultural heritage studies from an interdisciplinary perspective, based on a research experience developed within the framework of a Flemish Inter-University Cooperation Program with the University of Oriente, in order to promote conservation strategies and public policies. Under a theoretical-methodological and interdisciplinary strategy, qualitative and quantitative tools were articulated, which allowed introducing, reworking and relating concepts that constitute significant contributions to the historical-cultural, documentary, musical, built and legal heritage. The result is a theoretical-methodological systematization with an interdisciplinary approach that integrates its three components, records; protection, safeguarding and management; transmission and dissemination, expressed in new inventories on audiovisual heritage, the creation of the Digital Archive of Documentary Cinema in the eastern region of the country, new concepts, conceptions of analysis, diagnoses and characterizations of historic urban areas, constitutional values and regulatory potentialities of intellectual property as an expression of cultural heritage were characterized, and different local actors, community and school leaders were trained.
