System of actions for the dissemination of the cultural heritage of the general Vicente García de Las Tunas cemetery through social networks

Abstract

The study of cemeteries has become one of the priorities for the National Council of Cultural Heritage and the Cuban Network of Cemeteries and Funeral Sites, as they constitute sites of incalculable value for the conservation of the historical memory of the peoples. In cemeteries, the cemetery cultural heritage comes to life through the traditions and identity traits, related to death, which are made visible in architectural constructions and other areas of the necropolis. The Mayor General Vicente García de Las Tunas Municipal Cemetery has been little studied and the manifestations of the cemetery cultural heritage that are found in it are not recognized or disclosed enough in the territory. It is necessary to carry out a systematic study in this cemetery to turn it into a cultural product that can be exhibited through digital media such as social networks. Due to its scope and impact on people of all generations, social networks constitute an adequate space for the dissemination and knowledge of cemetery cultural heritage. This study aims to design a system of actions for the dissemination of the cultural heritage of the Mayor General Vicente García Municipal Cemetery through social networks. Methods such as participant observation, content analysis and the documentary bibliographic review investigative technique were used.
